After reading this: https://www.lgc.govt.nz/assets/Good-practice-files/Codes-of-Conduct/Draft-standard-code-of-conduct-Revision-21-August.pdf. particularly on their “expectations” around the Treaty of Waitangi, here is what I wrote to them:
Hi Folks,
I see no reason for anything to do with the treaty being in here.
If I get voted into our local board it will be to represent people who know what I stand for.
1. Sovereignty was ceded in 1840.
2. The Littlewood Draft should be recognised as the final English draft of the TOW.
3. The Freeman version of the Treaty should be recognised as a false representation.
4. Maori are not indigenous.
5. We should repeal the moratoria on archeological digs and reopen the investigations so that we can get a glimpse of the true history of NZ. Imagine what that would do for tourism.
LG has no business trying to control people's thought and speech.

Another initiative from Kirsten. Only 31 signed sadly.
Petition of Kirsten Murfitt: Change Citizens Initiated Referenda rules to bind Parliament and increase limits
Petition request
That the House of Representatives amend the Citizens Initiated Referenda Act 1993 so that: 1) an indicative referendum which achieves 51% or more votes in support is binding on Parliament; & 2) the maximum promotion spend of $50,000 is increased to reflect increased prices since enactment.
Petition reason
The Act allows direct democracy by providing a way for the public to place an issue onto the national agenda, it's called an indicative referendum petition. If this petition achieves the threshold, the resulting referendum is not binding on Parliament. I believe if 51% of New Zealanders support an indicative referendum it should bind Parliament to act. Also, the maximum promotion for a citizen’s referendum petition spend is $50,000. I think this maximum spend from 1993 is unrealistic in 2025.

3 Waters Revisited. We shouldn’t fall for this either.
This is a 2 or 3 part process. At time of signing the first page wouldn’t let me put a capital letter first on my name. I’m telling you that so you can avoid trying to make that happen if it’s still not set up to do that. The second page is signing the petition. And the third is for sharing and supporting.

That’s 20,000 of us collecting one page each or 2,000 of us collecting 10 pages each. They need to be WET INK signatures:

Petition to end the Waitangi Tribunal - next goal 50,000 signatures.
We should have a real education about the Treaty in the classrooms. That way there would be no indoctrination. Everyone needs to read Who Really Stole The Treaty? by John Robinson and other books explaining the actual history and how the Waitangi Tribunal has conned us all. Acknowledge the Littlewood draft as the true and final English version of the Treaty and the Freeman version as a flagrant lie that has been used and abused.
